Jesus Fish - Christian Car Emblems

The story is told of a car with a fish symbol sticker on it, stuck behind another car at a stop light.  When the light turned green, the first car did not move, so the lady driving the car with the Jesus fish got very angry and started to honk. Then she rolled down her window and began to yell, then make hand gestures.

A moment later a police car pulled up behind her. The officer jumped out of the patrol car with his gun drawn, and said "Step out of the vehicle and put your hands on the roof of the car!"

The lady did as told while the office checked her driver's license and registration. He looked it over then handed it back to her.  "Sorry ma'am", he said, "When I drove up and saw the Jesus fish symbol on the back of your car and then I saw you honking, yelling and shaking your fist, I assumed the car must be stolen!"

The Jesus fish has been made fun of by the evolutionists, as they have made up a Darwin fish sticker that is the Jesus fish with legs on it. The Christians have made this into a funny sticker, buying them and mounting them upside down like a dead fish! Another huge seller is the Darwin Truth sticker, with the Truth fish swallowing the Darwin fish. 

Why is it called the Jesus Fish?

The symbol really got its start in being associated with followers of Jesus Christ in the first Century AD.  Greek was the global language of those days and followers of Christ came up with the acronym Ichthys(Greek: ?χθ?ς; also transliterated and latinized as ichthys, icthus, ichthus or ikhthus; ichthus, spelled: Iota Chi Theta Upsilon Sigma.   (ΙΧΘΥΣ, Greek for fish) is an acronym or backronym of "Jesus Christ, Son Of God, Saviour (?ησο?ς Χριστ?ς, Θεο? Υ??ς, Σωτ?ρ). A secret sign of the fish was often used, consisting of two intersecting arcs resembling the profile of a fish.  In this way, Christian could identify themselves to one another without fear of persecution.  Today it is one of the most widely recognized Christian symbols it the world, along with the cross and the dove.
